Best psu under $50?

Currently have a generic 400W running 3 hard drives, dvd writer, cd writer, 2 case fans, amd 64 3000, and 1 GB of memory. (motherboard is an MSI rs480..which doesn't matter much, but I'll throw that in there :p)

I'm adding a 7800GT and am wondering what's the best bang for my buck that can run this system? The quieter, the better, under $50 is a must.

Fortrons and Zippys are good for the money. My question is how much are you spending on that 7800GT? You realize your <$50 PSU power everything, including that expensive video card? Don't slack on it.

Work another hour for god sakes... Xclio 450BL

Why spend more when that would work fine? Thank you.

Why spend more? Well, I would never go with the absolute minimum on a critical component in my computer...

EDIT: Wasn't referring to the Xclio. I was referring to the setting a minimum amount on the PSU. I believe in getting what you want / need, not just getting what you can afford.

If your PSU fries your computer, you have no one but yourself to blame. It will be a sad day indeed. Hopefully for you it doesnt happen, but it has, for others.

Think of your PSU as insurance. Crappy PSU, crappy insurance.

Why is everyone acting like he needs to shell out 100 dollars for his PSU? That PSU is awesome, a great solution for around $50.

Yeah I have a Fortron FC135-40 that powers a 80186 prototype system just fine to this very day if that speaks to thier longevity. My only gripe with Fortron is no documented warranty...

I just got a FSP400-60GLN as part of my girlfriends xmas present package. Though I'm reconsidering just giving her my Seasonic S12-600, giving the fotron to my grandmother who needs a new PSU, and trying out the Coolmax CW-650T.

Yes, fortron have a good reputation, go with that.

The PSU is a very important component and should neevr be skimped on, my mate bought a 600w PSU for like £10. What happened? It blew up. His rigs a state now anyways, the heatsink fell off the cpu and smashed the graphics card so anyways, dont skimp on the PSU.
