Welcome,

I know this a stange topic, but I fig. there isn't psu forum and this is probably w/ most people view. My psu is loud and is even louder when I go to sleep 🙂. My is 450W and got it for $15. It has PowWow fans, i think there crap, am I right. Please let me know what kind of psu is quiet and got around 400. I wish I can get a Psu for <= $50, maybe if it hella good one, maybe over $50. I heard Dell is best one out there, maybe I could jack one from one of there new system.

Thanks

What are you powering?

fortron or silverstone 120mm models are basically silent. DO NOT BUY COOLMAX

i have the antec true power 430, and its pretty quiet. The ultra x just looks sweet and the added cleaniness to it is worth it.

I've used an enlight 360 watt, and it's very quiet. Also my sparkle 300w 12cm ($28 at newegg). Both will overclock very well for their wattage rating. The sparkle fan noise will increase under load (when gaming); the enlight also but it's quieter. I would only use a single fan ps. All the 2 or 3 fan units are noisier.

My Enlight 420w that I got from Newegg for $40 is the quiestest thing in my case. It has provided me with stable rails to overclock quite decently, as well. There are better, but it does a great job.

Zebo, what's wrong with the CoolMax? They were pretty cheap and according to the newegg customer reviews they worked very well.

So i bought two of the 350-watt versions to run a P4 2.26@3.2GHz and a mobile Barton @2300MHz. They are running cool with strong voltages, and the 120mm fan is very quiet. They were also very heavy, which is a definate sign of quality in a power supply.
