best program to convert .flv files into something watchable on my laptop?

The main program I've seen used for this is SUPER.

bloatware and slow
mediaconverter is far better..and multithreaded.

that being said, flv is easy to read straight. mediaplayer
vlc
gomplayer etc
perhaps a codec pack... klite?

I use VLC. It's the perfect default player for just about any media. It's small, and works great for playing a single instance of something. I use Foobar to for large libraries, and VLC for a single song or video.

All the Google links I get for mediaconverter are online media conversion services.

Did you mean "MediaCoder", which Google listed as a related search? That looks interesting.

lol yea i flubbed.

its mediacoder.

many more options.
much much faster.

something just doesn't seem right about super. its bloated load time, its awful speed, the homepage is even odd.

I've really never had a problem with SUPER. Never really seemed bloated or slow to me, but now I'm going to have to give mediacoder a short and see how that goes.
