Best program for monitoring CPU temp?

Nitemare

Lifer
What's the best program out there for monitoring the temperature on my CPU. I would prefer freeware as I had cpucool, but that registering/purchasing popup message got to be too annoying.
This is for a K7S5a board.

I have the cd that came with my MSI board and it has one on there. Will it work with my ECS board or not?

Doesn't your BIOS program have something that measures it?

You might want to check the CPU/Processors and Overclocking forum, too.

As much of a MSI fan I am, half the time MSI's monitoring software doesn't even work with MSI's own boards in Win2k/ME/XP.

Screw MM, look into SpeedFan. Easier to set up, and once you're getting those temperatures reported...you can actually do something about them! SpeedFan allows you to tweak fan speeds (in RPM %) and set conditions to use less power in. For instance, when my CPU temperature hits 30C, I have SpeedFan set to start slowing down my fans to their quietest possible while still maintaining that temperature.

It's freeware, too. Check it out.
