I have been searching high and low for a good deal on this monitor. The best I can find is at Mwave, but the shipping cost puts it over the top. I have a $150 amazon GC, but they want $100(!) just for shipping and full retail for the unit ($549). Are their any B&M stores that carry the G400 model so that I can avoid shipping charges?

I hope you guys can work some magic.. 'case I'm stuck in 1024x768, and it's damn cramped in here...

Try this:

Call staples, tell them you want to pricematch NECXDirect.com
Their price is 530 with free shipping.
They also have a 50 dollar coupon, available at techbargains

Price is at 480 now, apply a 40 dollar staples coupon, and your at 440. Only problem is you pay tax on that, so that jumps you up to anywhere from 460 to who knows what.

Good luck, I opted to just order it from NECXDirect.com for 480 shipped.

if you're lazy like i am, or don't have a way to carry that huge a$$ box, onvia sells this monitor for $530.91 shipped to san francisco.. you will have to check on shipping for yourself, but i believe to sf it was $25.68 for 3-7 business day (i can only guess ups ground)$51.63 for "best way" (2-4 business days)...

and in my opinion, this monitor is totally awesome... i'm on one now, and everything is so perfect...

<edit> of course i didn't see that PM to staples thing, but whatever... more options are good

It might be tough to get Staples to PM to a competitor's price after using a competitor's coupon. I tried to do this recently, and was told that their new policy is to only PM to the competitor's price BEFORE any competitor's coupons. Actually, I can't say that I blame them for that. It's a price match, not a promotion match. And coupons are a promotional tool.

Anyway, your mileage may vary. But I wanted to give a heads up so you're not surprised if they tell you this.

How about $479 with free shipping? There is a catch though, the free shipping ends in 30 minutes.
