its not the hottest thing out there no, but this is the best price for it that ive seen. almost $30 cheaper than other places, so if you were lookin for this anyways, its a good deal. Ya, you have to add it to your cart to see the true price.

According to benchmarks I have seen, yes:

Have a look at this CPU/Doom 3 chart. I have an Intel 2.8C that runs Doom 3 well, but the A64 2800+ is a 10 frames ahead of me. If you go from your current setup to this, I think you would see a big improvement.

I've been tempted by that bundle as well. However, the 939 3000+ is only $150 (retail) and would be much better for upgrades.

The bundle lists the CPU as OEM, so I assume no HSF? (tack on a bit more starting cost right there)

This price is warm at best. Id wait for the 3000 939 pin to come down in price. The 2800+ 754 is already outdated. IMO
