Best price for Canon G2 ?

I want to buy a Canon G2 camera. I have an Amex Blue. I believe I can still take advantage of their pricematching policy until the end of this month. I checked Pricegrabber, the lowest price is a little under $700. I'd hate to pay more if I can get a better deal than this. I can buy the camera at Best Buy for $799+tax or at RitzCamera.com for the same price w/ no S/H and no tax (then pricematch). Please let me know if you guys know any better deals. Thanks.

Hi AJordan,

Welcome to AnandTech. I know you are new to our forums, so I wanted to let you know that in Hot Deals, new threads are for posting the deals you have found. Please post your comments in the appropriate moderator sponsored thread:

~~~~ IWANNA ~~~~ to ask for hot deals on the items you want.
~~~~ How Do I ~~~~ to ask how to price match, etc.
~~~~ Brag & Moan ~~~~ to rave about your great experience or complain about how badly you were treated.
~~~~ Rebate Tracking Thread ~~~~ to post or look for the latest info on current rebates.

If you are looking for deals on particular items, try using our search engine.

I hope you find the deals you want. While you are at it, you might want to visit some of our seventeen other forums devoted to computers. You can find out how to get the most from your machine or just how to solve some problem you have been having.

Thank you,

check out PriceGrabber, do a search for "G2" (lowest price seems to be around upper $600 range, although I might not buy from suspiciously cheap vendors)

also, Dell's Software & Peripherals division has the G2 for $799, but right now they're running a deal for 10% off, plus free ground shipping, on all digital cameras. If you add the G2 to your shopping cart, you will see a discount in your cart for $79.99, bringing the total cost from Dell to be $720. (assuming you don't live in a state where Dell charges tax). Also, two important notes on this: 1) the 10% deal ends today, and 2) the G2 is currently out of stock at Dell...you can place your order there today to get in on the 10% off deal, but they don't have the camera in stock apparently.

also, just a friendly comment...on the page that describes each of the forums here at AT, the Hot Deal forum says "Please stick to deals you've found, not items you are seeking." I'm not trying to flame you, just trying to point this out so that you can avoid people flaming you in the future. You'll note within the Hot Deals forum that there is a thread titled "~~~~ IWANNA ~~~~ "...this is a thread created by the moderators here, made specifically for posts such as these (of course, I'm not sure how many people really go in there, so I'm not sure how much good it would do to post in there...I personally have never looked in there once...ever) anyway, just trying to help

Okay hall monitors, you can all scurry back under your rocks now. Despite your best effort, the guy got the information he was looking for.

in before the lock makes no sense... is it "sneaky" b/c your post will be forgotten shortly after the thread is locked?
it's the same thing as posting spam b/c so many threads die in an hour anyway.
retarded.

id stay away from the G2.
it has a serious manufactoring defect..it cracks with normal use.
even the new black ones too.

I bought it from Dell.com for $779(using 15% off and $10 Coupons).

Based on techbargains info, I found an Ad in "eDigital Photo" Magazine May/June Issue, by Broadway Photo.
Quoted $579.
But Broadway web site (bwayphoto.com) quotes $629.

Hope it helps somebody.
