Best Prebuilt computers?

I have Two dell desktops E510 and XPS 400 both have been reliable and although they *are* consumer machines and lack the oc'ing and other features of a custom. They can be good deals when you buy them during the right promotion. With a little time invested in bloatware removal they work well if you understand and stay within their limitations. I use both my Dell's for video work as well as the XPS has been folding 24/7 for aprox 1 month... and yes there are faster.. at least for me I am satisfied. Of course I do have to have my toy......

Amos 😎

I prefer Dell desktops because Dell provides full drivers for them online and will provide a pure XP Recovery Disk. HP does neither.

Best, hmm seems to me people are only thinking about best in terms of the product and not the company.

And best in terms of detroit mass produced.

What about some real quality high end PCs?

VoodooPC
FalconNW

How about whos' best in support?

Dell's Home support is pathetic.

I have a Dell Dimension 8200 .. about 4 years old or so ... sitll fine
That said, if I was to buy another Dell it would be one of their top
of the line models and not the entry level teaser specials.

Gateway is said to be very good and reliable as well. But I have
not yet used one or had a chance to test it's reliability .. but I do
now that 3-4 years back, it was one of the top choices. May still be.

I found Gateway's quality to be very good although i needed to add a fan to the actual case.

If your doing performance though, you will be very happy with Falcon Northwest.

I'm also impressed with HP Laptops, too.

HP LAptops.. Yummay.

BTW, Dell desktops suck if you have a blown PSU or a screwed up motherboard. Everything is proprietary. Heh, well if you have warranty, you're not so screwed, but still... if you wanted to get things up temporarily, have fun.

As for laptops, I wish I bought the HP nc6000 instead of my Dell 600m, but oh well. Laptop is a laptop. Can't really service them when they're screwed up so i mail themb ack each time.
