Best Power Supply?

What power supply do you guys recommend? I'm looking for a relatively quiet 400w...
Currently I have the Antec 400w that's shipped with the 1040 case...
It's incredibly loud 🙁

Thanks.

Speaking of Antec, I bought one from CompUsa to evaluate it, and it really is freakin loud. I was afraid that the noise was coming from the cooling fan, but then I listened closer and realized that it was the PSU.

Don't forget that it's thermally-controlled, so it will spin faster/louder if it feels like it 😉 Make sure your case is well-cooled, because even the Enermax (search forums for more info) will become louder if the temp. is high.

Another vote for the Enermax Whisper. It's not perfectly silent, but extremely quiet. Barely audible from around 3 feet away. Plus, they provide plenty of amps to the components.

I've been very happy with my 430 watt Enermax. Although I use a AMD Thunderbird, I like the fact it has connectors for Pentium 4s. I would recommend it to anyone.

Well what do you mean with the "best" power supply? If it's quiet and powerful that you're after, but don't care about money at all, get the Enermax Whisper EG651P-VE. It's got 550W, plenty of overkill but it can handle anything (I mean ANYTHING) you throw at it...TBird 1.4 @ 2 GHz, 6 PCI cards, GeForce3 overclocked, 8 case fans, 4 X15 hdds, another 4 73LP 10K RPM hdds, CDROM/CDRW/DVD/Zip (probably all working simultaneously), USB devices up to wazoo........and it would barely be breathing hard. And with all that, it's spec'ed at the same noise levels as the rest of the Whisper family. Of course it costs $165 bucks, but that's the only drawback I see (it IS a fairly big one too).

Anyone actually have one of these monsters??
