I've never needed one in the past due to a cryptic system I use for making nearly unique passwords, but I recently switched up my password creation technique after I realized that someone who intercepts several of my passwords could still figure out what I am doing and figure out my system (it was still totally non-obvious if they intercepted one password, which would not likely work at 90% of the other sites I use).

I'm always encountering places I haven't been to in years and, when I encounter a new one, I forget which system I was using at the time. My ISP does the greylisting technique that has me waiting hours or days for my email hints and reminders (spammer email servers don't continue to retry, but why can't they override the behavior when they see that I am actively refreshing my inbox expecting something?). I'm fed up with it and I realize that I could use a password manager app. It'll come in handy just to start making a list of the forums and sites I have accounts with, but I may as well go ahead and start recording them too.

Even at home, I use a variety of PCs and shared user accounts, so USB drive portability is a must for me.

Thanks... I was hoping there was a "portable edition" of that particular app, but I thought there'd be a ton of options to sift through.

it's cross platform to boot (keepassX for OS X). I love this. if you're paranoid, I keep it on a truecrypt volume on my USB stick, heh.. which is also cross platform now. My only problem has been keeping it in sync w/ my main file, heh.
