Iphone 4.0 720P back illuminated sensor,
AND BIGGER sensor!!!! they've kept the pixel pitch the same!

I'll wanna see large galleries of iPhone 4 pics before I even consider it to be a camera.
My 10 year old Sony P-50 still takes better photos than ANY cell phone currently on the market. The new iPhone is the only one which might be worth looking at.

Exactly. I have a Canon A80 that I bought for $30 off ebay.

These shots came from it.

Some slight post processing but obviously nothing extreme, not needed anyway really. Cell phone camera fanboys have a lot to prove before I even consider not owning a dedicated camera. lol

I love my cell phone cam....I never knew there was a group insisting they replace a dedicated camera though unless just talking snapshots.

Most people are getting ahead of themselves today.

We are constantly hearing 720i vs ...... 1080p, resolution, fringing, artifacts, etc....now adding it 120/240/..... HERTZ!!@!@!!!

The 110 film group has stepped beyond their means and boundaries.

Those that shopped TV's based just on size and were happy, likewise.

Now it's entered the monitor field...

it's sad those that spend beyond their means and/or pay more for things they really will never use.

if the iPhone sensor is larger than celly's than heck yeah! Of course, iPhone's processing goes through quite a bit too!

If you dont know any better or dont care, cell cameras are perfectly acceptable for daily use.
But please, PLEASE stop trying to impress me with your "awesome cameraphone". Thats just disgustingly ignorant.

It doesn't matter how nice the sensor is, if the lens is crappy (like a piece of mediocre plastic), you won't get great pictures.

Exactly. I see these people with phones with however many megapixels and it's just annoying. What's the point of 8 megapixels when you have a lens the size of a pea and mostly likely a finger smudge across it. Also reminds me of the time a co-worker told me his point and shoot took better pics solely because it had more megapixels than my XT. LOL
