I buy my leather jackets from Cycle Gear mostly...motorcycle leather is not what you're looking for though. That stuff is heavy duty and weighs a shit ton more than any casual leather jacket.

Interesting thread and links.

For those of you that bought leather jacket online. How do you be sure that the jacket would fit/look good on you? That is why I haven't buy any clothes online yet.

The Polo Leather Windbreaker is a Ralph Lauren classic:

It's the best reasonably price coat I've ever seen.

That one is awesome if you want to look like a douchebag.

agreed. that dude's trying way too hard. go back to the World Of Tomorrow, sky captain, and take your popped collar with you

also $499 is "reasonably priced"? lol I guess jeans for under $150 is "reasonably priced" as well

lol what the hell is that thing

I guess that Ralph Lauren jacket is about 50 years less outdated than the duster, and almost as overpriced

Duster's are horse riding gear, they are long and split in the back and strap to each leg seperately to provide full coverage of your legs from wind rain and mud while riding. And that style of garment is way more than 50yrs old :) more like 150yrs. If you spend any time riding in inclement weather they are a must, I have one that is cut just like that one but its made of oil cloth not leather and cost about $250 when I bought it 25yrs ago.

I saw a couple of really nice jackets I liked at overland, but they were in the $1200-$1500 range, way over my budget.

Dusters are cool looking coats if you can REALLY use that kind of thing. Otherwise you kind of just look like a tard. I got one from Goodwill. It was brand new, but a factory second. Probably a $200 coat, for $20. I've only worn it a couple times when it made sense, cause I don't like looking like a tard :^D I guess it wasn't my best use of $20, but when I need a duster, I have one :^D

Yep, when riding a horse with boots spurs and cowboy hat its the perfect look and very functional, otherwize you just look like a 2 bit dimestore cowboy wannabe. I don't spend any time riding anymore so mine stays in the closet unless I go to a western themed event in the winter, or for some reason have to spend considerable time outdoors in a snow storm or downpour in the winter.

I really like used for things like leather coats or military type jackets. Those things are supposed to look worn. Ebay isn't bad either but you will pay more.

I'm still trying to find a M-65 but I can't find one that I like in my size.
