Best place to order a new laptop screen

In my opinion, Ebay has it pretty much hands down. The last two or three Ive done for side jobs I got from Ebay, all worked, all were as described.

Is it pretty easy to replace a screen? Never done it before and I've 2 clients inquire about this.

Seems so - found out the other day when I chanced upon a how-to-screen-change video on Youtube for my laptop. Don't need it - yet, but when/if I do, I'm gonna try it. Check it out.

This is a Dell Inspiron and disassembly/reassembly was ridiculously easy as long as you are extra careful with the connectors. Only one I've ever disassembled so I can't speak to the ease generally, but a coworker has zero computer building experience (though high technical knowledge in general) and he's replaced four or five with no problems.

Dell usually posts all its technical service manuals which detail how to completely disassemble/assemble their laptops online. Those manuals make it pretty easy even for a absolute novice to see how to take them apart provided they can hold and turn a screwdriver.

HP/Compaq also posts lots (though not all) of theirs at their support site as well. You really have to look around for Acer/Gateway/eMachines stuff, though, as they seem to treat it like classified material (often, I've found them via international support sites like ACER Panama, etc. via Google where the employees aren't as strict about disclosing them).

If you haven't already bought one, you may want to check out Laptopscreen.com. I had to use them twice and had really good luck with them. You also get a discount on your second order.

I had to replace my sister's laptop screen twice(don't ask) and did not have a problem. It was not that hard to do.

On my second order, the company sent me an email wanting me to make a video of the screen installation process and they would give me an additional $15 off my order.
