Best place to look for college grad part time jobs?

BD2003

Need a part time job, and dont want to work at BK or Mcdonalds. Got a BA in psychology.

Where is a good place to start looking? Seems like its impossible to find a decent paying part time.

If your school has a career center, go there and ask them what they can do for you. :Q Seriously.

Not wanting to work in BK after getting a 4 year degree is not being picky.

lol, wrong degree man. Psychology degrees are only good if you go all the way and get a doctorate. There are businesses that only care if you have some degree in the first place. I think some higer up sales jobs are like that.

Sounds like you said it best, "Seems like its impossible to find a decent paying part time". There are tons on grads without jobs right now and even Master's degree, you might want to look into internships just for the work experience. So you can beef up your resume.

axelfox is right don't be picky, even with your degree. Its pretty competitative out there.

It doesnt bother me that I wont get a super high paying job cause of my degree. I picked it cause I like it. I'm not trying to make 60k a year out of college. All I'm looking for is 10-12 an hour, and I refuse to believe that I cant make that, even if it will take a little searching.

Two words: government jobs. I am eligible job at my local sheriff's department that starts at $15.00 an hour and so far I only have a high school diploma. Of course I had to pass a two hour exam but that was about it. Haven't gotton the job yet though, I think they are still either processing my large stack of paperwork I had to fill out or didn't want me for some other reason, they are pretty picky. Overall I had a shot at getting the job though.

Serioulsy look into government jobs if you can, check your career center. Use your resources.

Raid your college career center for everything. That's what they're there for. And network, network, network - talk to friends and see if they know anything. Lastly, and this is actually something people overlook, don't skip over government jobs. Heck, you can even go work at the university you graduated from. A friend of mine who just graduated this quarter now works as a proctor for my college's placement tests.

newspaper.

are you married to -only- doing part time, as your topic suggests? because if so, McD's and its ilk may be your only option.

if you are near a university, i'm sure you could get a job doing lab work, help run psych experiments, or do helpdesk computer support.

also if you aren't too picky you can get secretarial work and we can all make fun of you 😉

i would really suggest the former..
