Best place to get all codecs in one spot

I've been grabbing codecs here and there for divx, xvid, ac3, etc... Some work, some don't. Isn't there a place to download a collection of all current codecs? If so, where?

On kazaa search for Nimo Codec Pack. Be careful and scan it though, it should come with a red-white-blue icon. A LOT of them are viruses. So SCAN SCAN SCAN!

I've heard bad things from that codec. I've had problems with it myself. It will probably do more bad than good.

I'm using it and can report no problems or spyware or anything like that.

What problems have you heard?

Maybe it's the other one people are talking about. I dunno, I don't use either.

i've been installing and recommening Klite codecs to everyone with no problems, but Ace Megapack looks b!tching!

ffdshow and ac3filter should be all you need.

Here is the right advice....stay away form the other codec paks as they do not alway play friendly with your system. These are all yo need.

Do these two links take care of like divx, xvid, ac3, etc??

For playback yes but if you want to encode anything no.

ffdshow is DirectShow decoding filter for decompressing DIVX and XVID movies using libavcodec or xvid with rich set of video postprocessing filters. ffdshow can also be used as a separate postprocessing filter for other decoders.

there are only a few codecs you need
Divx5
Divx3.11
xvid
ac3

and thats it, only 4 codecs and you can play just about everything
