Anyone know of a good place to get a nice solitaire saphhire engagement ring ?

She really hates diamonds (against the whole DeBeers monopoly / African slave trrade thing),
so no diamonds or even fakes since it still promotes them.

I'd like to go with a nice light blue sapphire set in platinum ...

Anyone know of the approx price ?

Also, would it be wise to go with white gold if platinum is too much ?

Just an fyi, the lighter blue a sapphire is, the lower quality the stone. Very good sapphires look just about black.

Tips for choosing sapphires
Study the color of the stone. The most valuable sapphires are deep, pure blue, and do not change color when moved into different light. Stones that are too dark or too light are of less value than royal blue stones.

It's a good stone to use in an engagement or wedding ring because it's so hard. It won't scratch as easily as an emerald, for instance.

Game is getting pretty valuable.

Lots of fakes too.

I’m going to guess a spam post bumped the thread and got deleted?
