Best place to buy sunglasses online?

Kabob

Lifer
My wife wants to buy me some new sunglasses. We ran to the Sunglass Hut and I found a pair of Oakleys that I really like but they didn't have 'em in the color I wanted (and I'm sure they inflate the prices a good bit).

Where's the best/cheapest place to buy sunglasses online? I used to know of a good online store but I've since forgotten the name of it.

Thanks!

Never buy sunglasses online.

Unless you've tried it on personally and know the exact product SKU.

I just got back from the sunglass hut having tried on said sunglasses. Don't know the exact SKU but I know the name/model.

You should just buy it from Sun Glass Hut then and keep them in business. Order the color you want from them in store.

I've had good luck with REI.com/outlet

EDIT: Not many good looking ones, I just checked...when I bought them a few months ago they had some nice Bolle's that I bought. One of the pair broke (something fell off) and they quickly gave me a replacement pair no questions asked.

They didn't have the color/lens finish I want. I asked about ordering them and he said they don't do special orders.

You're not going to find current Oakley models at a discounted price unless you find a place that has a coupon/discount that doesn't exclude Oakley.

Oakley like many other companies make retailers charge MSRP for their current models. I recently got a pair of Oakley Whiskers from Citysports using a 20% off coupon.

Your best bet is to just go to Oakley.com and buy it from there if you want a particular frame/lens.

OIC, thanks for the info!

Did you get said coupon online or locally? Did you purchase online?

They've got the model I'm looking for and they actually are a few bucks cheaper, a 20% coupon would be amazing.

I'm local gov't but I don't think that'll cut it. I've got a friend who's .mil but I don't think they're supposed to buy for other people.

Do you have a government ID? If so, it's worth a shot. I'm local LE and they accepted mine.

They're not going to card you if they see you wearing something that's "military" only, which yes, does exist. This will probably be your cheapest route unless you get lucky and find a coupon.

May be worth a try.

True, unfortunately Oakley SE doesn't sell the Flak Jacket, only the Half Jacket which is narrower (and looks and feels a little too small on my face). If they sold the Flak Jacket I'd be all over it!

just google the model you want. should be a decent number of sites that come up. just make sure you pick a legit one.
