I need to find a good, working battery for an Ipod Mini.

I checked Ebay and found they were only $10-$20. Are the prices really that low or are some of the ones on Ebay fakes?

Where else can I buy the battery besides on Ebay?

apple.com. Ask a sales rep.

And I wont add any comments like "thats what you get for buying a pod".

Oops! I guess I did.

I personally would not buy the battery from Ebay ... a lot of electronics & computer parts on that site are junk

Look here instead: http://www.batteryship.com/htmlos/htmlo...gmp80&gclid=CPzT6uWu5oQCFRF8HgodIwVPqQ

You will need to which generation of Ipod you have ... these kits come with tools to pop open the case ... you usually have to solder the wires from the battery .. the units basically use a
Lithium Ion Battery ... similar to what is in cell phones .. I do not know the voltage of the Ipod Battery ... a cell phone battery woun't work since they usually connect by just "dropping onto contacts"

Why would you suggest the OP spend 4 times the price for a lousy additional 250Ma ? ?
The link I gave him is a 500 Ma unit, which is 100Ma more than Stock & is only $10

The best place to buy an iPod battery (or a PowerBook/iBook battery for that matter) is Other World Computing (macsales.com).

They have a wide range of battery options. You can get exact replacements or you can get newer-style batteries that will last longer than the original did. Their prices are good and you get the plastic tool and good instructions. OWC has been demonstrating their iPod battery kits at a lot of Mac, music, and consumer trade shows. One of their managers has a neat gimmick where he'll replace a variety of iPod batteries while blindfolded. These people know Apple products and the batteries that run in them. They have printed instructions, online instructions, and online Quicktime videos showing you exactly what to do. No soldering required.

** Highly Recommended **

(no, I don't work for OWC, but I love their products and service)

I just looked at your site ... it is way more expensive than the one I listed
Granted, my choice is only 500Mah .. yours is 600Mah .. but look at the
cost $10 versus $25 (plus postage) .. I also looked again at the photo
on my site & the battery has a connector .. so No Soldering .. my error
and it does come with the tool to open the case

Cool, I didn't look at your site until just now.

Glad to see there's good competition in the iPod battery arena. After all, there are only what, 60 million iPods out there? Hehe
