help! I have lived in boston for a year now and I can't find a decent place to buy a CPU, motherboard, heatsink, etc. Best buy and microcenter don't cut it. i live downtown and am looking for a place within reach of the T to buy such things.

thanks
AG

I live on the North Shore,MA and have access to a distributor in Woburn, I've gotta tell you though that with the exception of cases, cheap keyboards, mice and speakers, pricewise you are better off buying on the web

Distributor is useful when I planned poorly or have something go bad that needs to be replaced same day but that's about it

Local computer shows, check the schedules. Mid-September is the next earliest round in the area for me. Many of the local (and not so local, like from RI) stores go to these shows, so you can compare prices easily, see the actual product before buying (unlike online) and if there's a problem, the store isn't too far away to go see them. I can't find any other local computer shows, wish I could.

every month or so there is a "Computer Blowout" at the Bayside Expo... never been, but I see the adds all the time... Not sure if you can get there by T either....never mind..
