Best place to buy a suit?

For one, the cloth used in the suits I've seen is not high-quality material at all. And the cut/fit is nothing like a more expensive/high-quality suit. Try on a Canali somewhere and you'll know what I mean.

i got my last suit at JC Penny outlet in atlanta in 1995
i need to get a couple of new ones, they have a jc penny outlet here in KC , so i guess i'll head over there soon

I odn't know, i have tried and owned suits from numerous places. I guess i never really paid attention to the quality. For the past 4 years, I have always ended up at Men's Warehouse, but my last suit one button fell off.....but I did not complain.

Canali is amazing! Twice a year at Bloomingdales, the Canali Rep comes in and you can get a custom made Canali suit! OP head out to some nice outlet-Off saks, Barneys, Sym's. You want a Boss/Hickey Freeman/Canali/Burberry/Zegna or something on that level. Should be right around $500.

if you shop for "last years" styles you can get things pretty cheap, or at least compared to original price. My dad has a shop in san francisco that he's been going to for 25 years, and my first suit was from there. A black versace suit, after alterations, came out to about $700. Original price was over twice that, and the style/pattern was only a year old.

Unless you are getting a suit custom tailored, it's really about where has a suit that you like for a good price. Keep the thought pattern in that order, too.

If you're in Ohio, Schottensteins has some good stuff. But Men's warehouse has the best stuff, but it's like $250 a suit.

I disagree. I've owned a lot of custom tailored suits before they are even put together - from the ground up. They are nice so I know what a good suit is. I bought a couple of suits from Banana Republic, but the size/fit is off, at least for me. J.Crew on the other hand, uses European fitting for their suits. They are nicely contoured, drapes nicely and fits extremely well if you are in shape. I only like tropical wool suits too, and that is mainly what J.Crew sells. FYI, their suit jacket is usually $325 and dress pants go for $148; so look to spend close to $500.

Really...they don't make their own suits- they carry brand names. The fabric that's used depends on how much $$$ you spend.
