Best place (online or wherever) to get flowers?

I got my wife some flowers for valentine's day from the local florist, but they lastest hardly a few days before wilting and dying. Anybody got any recommendations? Proflowers? 1-800-Flowers?

What's usually the best?

Yes, I understand I'm asking a bunch of geeks (myself included), but I realize a lot of us have been in the doghouse long enough to know what's good. 🙂

I've had the best luck with a local flower shop with a good reputation. Ask around with the locals, I'm sure you can get a good recommendation. That way you can see the quality you're buying.

This is not to say that an online place couldn't work out for you, that just hasn't been my experience.

I've used Proflowers before and was extremely satisfied. Also, use the promo code "chick" for some sweeter deals.

Agreed. I've been screwed over by both FTD and 1-800-FLOWERS. FTD delivered to a friend the day AFTER her birthday, but once I complained (politely), they refunded my money. 1-800-FLOWERS never delivered at all and wouldn't admit it. I called AMEX and got my money back.

Me too. Until they cancelled two orders prior to Valentine's day without notifying me

Local is always best.

I've had good luck with both Proflowers and 1800Flowers. Remember to to use FatWallet for FatCash rebates and coupons...

If you are getting flowers for someone IN your life as opposed to someone outside it (like another state/city/whatever)...pick local. If you haven't done enough dating in your home town then it's best to go internet.

If you don't know how to buy flowers by the time you are married, you really didn't date.
