Hi guys!

Just wondered where you all buy your DVDs, the ones of you that order them from the web.

I have used DVDBoxOffice.com for years now and I'm vey happy with them. But I would like to test some other places as well.

Let me know your experiences, them being good or bad.

Cheers!

Head over to the Hot Deals forum and search for Columbia House. They had a deal last week, 5 DVDs for $25, with nothing more to buy.

There was somewhat of a limited selection unless you got into the right site. For most of the people, when you clicked on the DVD club link, you got a site with a mostly red background. If you kept going back and reclicking the link, eventually you'd get to a site with a mostly blue background where you could order any DVD they carried (the red site had a limited selection). They don't have the newest releases, but they've got quite a few good movies. I picked up Saving Private Ryan Limited Edition, Gladiator, Apocalypse Now: Redux, Pulp Fiction Limited Edition, and Goldmember for $25.

The deal may be dead now, but if not, get in before it is.

Depends on what I'm looking for, sometimes Amazon has the better prices. Most of the time I use DeepdiscountDVD.com though.

I used them once. They were definitely the cheapest, but man... did it take a long while to get here. No complaints about them, except that one.

If you want to rent DVD's, look into netflix. You can watch tons of movies at an unbelievable price.

columbia house, or...

(i'm from the states so...) buy in bulk from www.amazon.ca.
the exchange rate makes the dvds so much cheaper. shipping is reasonable too.

I like amazon.com when they have free shipping on some items.

Same here, but no free shipping to my country, unfortunately. :(

On the other hand, you have the Chineese market in K.L. I bought a 100 DVDs when I was there in October and shipped them home... :)

You don't happen to be talking about a certain batch of DVDs more commonly referred to by the locals as "DVD-9", do you? :p

Long story. I was addicted to ordering DVDs (justified it by calling it a hobby), I never watch them so 60% of them are still shrink wrapped. The other 40% have only been watched once so they are in absolute perfect mint condition.

I blame it all on DVDTalk and those killer deals, ok ok maybe it was partially my fault.

Well, I guess I'll consder that a warning as I currently have 15 DVDs on the way to my residence. That CH 5 for $25 deal is sweet! I have about 60 titles now, I think I'd have trouble getting above 100 or so. By trouble I mean I would have movies I never intended on watching

Wait, I have those now, thanks to my wife! I can't believe I married a woman who likes foreign films :Q:p
I guess it makes sense since she is European (but from the country that supports us and speaks the correct language)!

Eeeh, why do you say that...? ;-)

Got a nice deal though: 100 titles for $165... All but 2 worked!
