Best place/battery to buy around $100. Are Duralast car batteries any good?

Time to replace mine and was wondering if the Duralast ones sold at Autozone are any good? 600 CCA and 750 CCA at 32*.

I recently spent way too much time looking into batteries. As mentioned, most are made by Johnson Controls. They all have similar warranties.

Unless you can find a Deka battery they're all pretty much the same.

Another vote for Costco, they are JC batteries and go for about $75, but you get $9 back when you turn in your old battery. All my cars have Costco batteries currently and they all perform great.

If you want a real high end battery look at Odyssey but be prepared to pay through the nose.

I've heard walmart batteries have 2 years no questions. My batteries usually die around 2 years. Do they keep replacing it every 2 years?

Walmart sells the Ever Start Maxx series which are their own in house battery. They are made by Delphi. I bought one brand new a few years ago and it went two years and died, a month after the warranty went out. Folks at Wally World told me if it had died a month sooner they would have replaced it, no problem. I don't think I'll buy another one.

Nothing wrong with 'em. I tend to prefer Interstate if I can find them, but I'm using a Duralast in my 951 because there wasn't an Interstate available locally in the size for it.

Wow that seems low! I've had my car for 8 years and only been through two batteries. The first lasted 5+ years and current one is just over 3 years. This has been in cold ass winters every year too. I know the current one is a simple Walmart one for $65 or so.

What makes your batteries last so little or is 5 years the unusual number?

Another vote for Optima. ONLY battery I put in a vehicle I KEEP.

Optimas and other gell cell batteries are great, but generally aren't worth the additional cost for the average consumer. My batteries typically last between 5 and 9 years and it's doubtful that an Optima would last significantly longer despite their claims.
