you do realize that the best pizza chain usually isn't as good as a half-decent independent, right?
that said... i remember papa john's being good, but i haven't had it since i was a freshman in college. a few years ago, and even by then it had started to degrade. round table was consistently good, so i'll throw my vote to that. even though i work at california pizza kitchen... :p

None of the chains are worth a damn. If I find myself in a strange city and in the mood for pizza I'll take a chance on a random local place rather than a national chain. The worst local joints are about on a par with the best nationals and you can almost always find something much better.

The small pizza places here are much better than any of the chains, but they also cost twice as much. I guess I would have to say Pizza Hut is best chain, but the one near me has pissed me off so much with poor management that I almost never go there. I probably order from Papa Johns twice as much as all the other places combined because the Pizza is good and cheap.

Beaujo's (sp?) spelling kicks MAJOR ass as a regional chain, only here in CO. They add their ingredients by the pound and they use quality stuff too, they even take the time to braid the crust. As a national I'd put in another vote for Papa John's.

Edit: Here's a link with some info about them.

rounds tables is way too expensive and their thin crust is much thinner than it used to be, back in the day, like when i was in middle school and earlier (now a soph in college) round table was the sh*t. Now its still good but its overpriced and they give u much fewer toppings on your pizza.

It also used to come in a styraphome (sp) container and it was amazing back then

For regular pizza chain, I vote for Pizza Hut.
Especially meat lovers stuff crust pizza, yummy.
Their dough is just one step better than their competition.
For slightly different type of pizza, I like CPK.

Personally I think I'll have to stick with Papa John's. But I think the pan pizza from Pizza Hut is freakin good.

I like Dominos.

How can you say that?!?! I have worked at both, and Papa John's quality is SOOOO MUCH better than Dominoes. The dough is better. there's hardly any grease, and the overall quality of their toppings is dramatically better. I'm sorry, but dominoes in NOW WAY compairs to Papa Johns.
