Best piece of advice I could ever give to another guy.

Before getting serious, ask to see a picture of her mom or at least meet her.

Your girl + 25 years = her mom.

You have been warned.

Married guys will get this. You single guys better figure it out to before its too late^^

And...the father has no effect in this whole equasion?

everyone knows that men age better then women.

Because the father doesn't add looks to the gene pool right? No?

If you are worried that your girlfriend is going to look like her 40yo father when she gets older, you've got bigger issues than genetics to worry about, n00b.

look at all the older actors that women consider sexy such as sean connery. how many women do you know of that are sexy past the age of say 50ish? women get old and unattractive fast.

I'm darn close to 50 and while I'm no supermodel I'm quite sexy and attractive,I think I keep myself up nicely🙂

How modest.

Edit: Let me guess, 'It's true'.

You do realize that this isn't due to some inherent trait in women but is instead a result of how our society defines and views beauty, right?

Society's views on beauty aren't giving me an erection when I see my girlfriend nude.

Here's some real advice, if you're thinking about getting serious with someone, get them really mad to see what they're like, trust me, it's important...

Pay careful attention to how they talk about their ex's.

Pay careful attention to their family, and how they behave.

Actually yes it is ! I'm sick to death of having to apologise for not remaining 22 forever.
I am slim and trim, fashionably but tastefully dressed and well groomed, I have beautiful eyes and an award winning smile. Beauty comes in both genders and in all age ranges.

As weird as this sounds, yeah, they partly are. Of course most of that is still "human nature." However, I'm talking more about society's double standard on men versus women aging.

I figure by the time my wife's looks fade, I won't exactly be a stellar catch either. Pliablemoose has the best advice...when the looks fade (and they will for both of you) all you have is personal compatibility.

Hey, I'm not trying to put a damper on this thread or anything, but here goes. 🙂

Are people really so shallow as to determine the seriousness of a relationship on how her mom looks?

Maybe I'm old-fashioned or something, but to me, appearance doesn't mean much when it comes to true love. I don't care what my future wife looks like as long as there is a strong mental connection, good compatability and a good head on her shoulders.

That to me is the key to a successful relationship, but hey, what do I know. I'm not married yet. 😉

It might come as a shock to some here but older people still feel love and intimate desire for each other.Obviously it's important to watch your weight and stay as fit as you can and to care for yourself.

Looking at people in their 60's I can usually pick out the ones that were stunners when they were young and I can see that some things don't go away with time, good skin, good hair, a beautiful smile, style sense, the way they carry themselves. If I can see those things and pronounce the person a good looking older gal/guy I can well imagine that person's partner still finds them sexy.

I can't imagine having a long term relationship with somebody who's younger than a lot of the suits in my closet, lol 🙂

Yep, hard learned lessons, still learning too,

Another important one is to be damn sure you're on the same page about how the money is handled.
