I dont see what wrong with imageshack?

With a photo gallery you can send relatives a link to a site and they can see all your pictures. With Imageshack you'd need to send them invidividual links to pictures.

I like Snapfish. There's a nice utility you can download to batch upload large albums, and your friends and family can order reprints directly from Snapfish.

Free Hosting + A domain name for $8.88 + Coppermine, Gallery, or 4images = A personal photo gallery for less than $10 a year.

This gets my vote for a few different reasons:

  • Or FREE if you don't mind a subdomain like http://wheatmaster.atothosting.com
  • 250MB disk space for free, very few image galleries will give you that much space.
  • Since this is a web hosting account you can install any of these 400 image gallery scripts.
The two most popular are Coppermine and Gallery go ahead and login as admin username atot, password nef
  • You have total control over the image gallery, you can make image galleries private, public or even password protect them. Customize them using your own colors or select a theme.
  • You can also install a blog, CMS, your own forums, etc.

gallery: http://www.ovechkinfans.com/gallery/main.php

I haven't found out how to make it so that people can create their own accounts and be able to add to the existing albums... limit them from deleting though. Seems all they can do is create their own albums... so right now I'm the only one who can contribute.

I'm impressed with flickr. 25 bucks a year lets you upload 2 gigs of pictures per month, unlimited bandwidth, etc. You can create sets, view pics in a slideshow, etc. etc.
