My daughter has t-mobile pay as you go but friends sending her text messages are using up all her minutes. Anyone know of cheap monthly plans that have great text rates? thanks

tell her to call or use the computer. a phone is for talking, not texting.

Verizon has $39.99 450 Min Peak, Unlimited In Network Calling, Unlimited Night and Weekends + $2.99 for 100 TXT Messages, or $5.00 for 250 TXT Messages.

T mobile offers the following txt add on packages for their post-paid accounts

Any 400 Messages $4.99
per month

Any 1000 Messages $9.99
per month

Unlimited Messages $14.99
per month

This is in addtion to a minute account.

I have the 600 minute "small business" plan from Tmobile.
600 minutes, unlimited mobile to mobile, unlimited weekend and 500 txt messages. only $39.99 per month.

I'm not exactly use what qualified me for this plan but one day when I was looking to change my plan options via the website I saw this one and took it.

She does not talk alot but friends with unlim text send her loads of texts and use her minutes up fast, went thru a 100$ card in 2 months. At least that is what she tells me. I am fairly clueless about cell phones. Thank you I will check out some of these plans.

I still find it shocking that text-messaging costs extra. Bandwidth cost for it is no doubt negligible.

SERO. You can get text messaging, but you really have to try, but you WILL get it. I got 500 year (plenty for me) by emailing and using the magic words "Verizon", "Termination-fee", "Worth it", and "You're service sucks". (They hadn't processed my rebate, screwed me on texts, and wouldn't let me use a coupon)

It's called profit. Text messages cost hardly anything but cell companies know that people will pay to use it so it's pure profit to them.

I do not anywhere in the SERO plan for unlimited text, it shows only .15 per text message. Most of her friends have unlim text so she can get 100 plus texts a week. She tells people not to send them but they still do and it burns up her minutes. Only way to stop is to change phone number.

Sign up for the SERO plan. Then, when you get the phone, call customer service and have them add a text messaging plan to it.

300 txt msg - $5
1000 txt msg - $10
unlimited text msg - $15

After a few months you can send an email to Ecare and ask for free txt msging. I didn't even have to complain about the service or threaten to leave. I said i was happy with Sprint, but would be happier with free text msging added to my plan. Now i have 500 free text msg/mo.

I get 400 messages for $5 with my regular tmobile plan which is 1500 anytime minutes for $40. I think they are offering 1000 minutes for $40 now and you can add nights and weekends and favorites or whatever for a few more $$$

Yes part if the cost, if she has cash I will get some of that and then extra chores for a couple of weeks.

Verizon Wireless has a disability plan that anyone can sign up for (this is not published yet you can to ask for it)

$39.99 includes 100 minutes a month with UNLIMTED text to any company!!! (however you do not have free nights, weekend, or VZmobile to VZmobile)

The plan does require 1 or 2 years contract.
