Best performance at 225$?

Why this 225 figure.

You surely cant get a GTX 470 for that price, so best bang for buck right now is

460 1GB for under 200 dollars is your best choice.

Thanks for everything guys, but I have a question.

Is overclocking ABSOLUTELY necessary to get the best performance out of these cards? I'm kinda worried that OCing might kill my CPU or mobo.

What resolution are you gaming at? 460 1GB will be your best bang for buck IMHO at that price point and will give you decent performance in all but 2560x1600.

As long as you have a good power supply , you have no worries.
It will not kill other components.
No one says you have to overclock anyway.

5870 or you can get some GTX 470's for less than 225 after rebate. Both from newegg...

You can certainly do better than a 460 1GB for $225.

A 5870 is the fastest card with that price ceiling. In some instances the 6870 will be the fastest.

Take your pick, it's 5870 or 6870.
