That's true. I'm sure he meant RADEON 9000. :) The 9100 is the same as the 8500, and is only available in AGP.

The currently-available PCI cards are (in rough order of performance from best to worst, AFAIK):

RADEON 9000/9200
GeForceFX 5200
GF4MX 400/440
RADEON 7000 - GF2MX 200/400 (unsure which is actually faster, but probably very close)

RIVA TNT2 (not recommended; cannot play many newer games due to not having HWT&L)

The rest (original RADEON, GeForce1, etc.; also cannot play many newer games)

give us a budget? What are you willing to spend?

I would say Radeon9000 is a good Deal, the lowe end NVIDIA isn't even worth your time to look at it yet alone that POS card

The Radeon 9100 is available in both PCI and AGP versions. It is faster then any of the cards you listed above.

I'm fairly certain that Radeon 9100 PCI is the most powerful PCI card available. Of course like any PCI card, it will be crippled when compared to the performance of the AGP version.

Yes, and it is available on
9100 PCI for $49 after rebate

9100 is faster than 9000 and 9200, whereas 9000 pro makes a good match for the 9100. Remember to stick to the 128MB one since some vendors sell 9100 64MB's as "9100SE's" without mentioning the halved bandwidth :(

Unarguably, the best bang-for-the-buck award goes to the 128mb Visiontek 9100 PCI, which performs on par with the FX 5600 and in many cases outperforms it with conviction. You can still find the 128mb 9100 online for about $70

Pretty nicely worded, huh? :D

Hmmm skydrax... i finally found some1 using a PowerColor radeon9600 pro.... but 256 mb, not what i was going to get.
But i saw online a Powercolor radeon9600 pro 128MB, 400MHz Core and 400MHz Memory for a relle good price... $137. So i just wanted to know how is this PowerColor company rated... or are u having any problems with it? And if u know... whats the Core and Memory speed on that card that u have?

Or should I better get a Sapphire ($147) instead of Powercolor.... what u think

Thanks
