I run the Klipsch 4.1 ProMedia. I like em alot for computer speakers, still no where close to what you can buy for a home theater setup but for most cases you will spend alot more to get the whole working package in aftermarket speakers for PC. I love my clean sound and I use my quality living room setup for that, but PC speakers will only sound so good, the Klipsch 4.1 sound great for what they are. If you are looking to do gaming mainly and music on the side just go with some 7.1 setup if you have proper placement areas for them. True extended surround in games will sound awesome, when I look at PC sound I look at it as PC sound and PC speakers, all I need is decent clarity with strong clean bass(toned down) and a decent sound care like Audigy2 ZS. IT will sound great, I would go with the 7.1 Creative package. I just got some cheapy Creative 5.1 T5400 that sound fine as long as I don't try to drive em like my Home Theater speakers, but as far as playing Call of Duty, they are up loud enough to where I don't want them any louder and they still sound clean, now if I take em past my normal loud game listening volume then yeah they will distort, remember you sit most likely pretty darn close to these speakers, make sure to aim them directly at you and you can get the power to them to a minimum helping the distortion factor.
PS. Can't go wrong with the Klipsch 5.1 , they are overpriced but do rock for PC speakers, if the 7.1 system has close or better sound then for sure get a 7.1 setup. One more idea, get the Klipsch 5.1 now and then get the Klipsch 2.1 later to make it a 7.2 system, you can control your own seperate rear sub, two subs are always nice, fills in the dead sound spots that sometimes occur with subs and positioning of them.
Have fun, sorry I wrote so much.
