Hi guys, I would like to ask you for some suggestions concerning the best (in your opinion) third-party parental control software. Have you ever used such a programs?
I was looking for some, but there were too many of them. Thanks in advance for any suggestion.

Depends on what you're trying to control and what your skill level is. Can you expand on your needs an what systems you have?

If you just want to block porn consider Opendns.com. Create a free account and set your DNS to their servers.

Do you want to track your children on laptops or mobile phones. I can suggest for mobile phones: mobiestealth, and for Windows you can check WorkExaminer.

+1 if your router is good enough you can set the router to use the openDNS server and block porn and whatnot for anything connected to your network regardless of the OS.

Use OpenDNS. That way, every device on the network will be affected and can't be bipassed. However, kids can always just go over to a friends house, public network etc. so nothing will be foolproof.

However, I am of the opinion that education on online safety is far more effective than just blocking websites and programs. Treat kids like adults and the begin to act like them. Taking or blocking something is just going to make them want it even more. Tried the whole parental control software. Been there.
