Best paint to match aluminum case

I just got a lian li pc 65 and of course I want to paint the drives to match. Any recomondations on paint? Has anyone actually done this? A

I saw that someone used a silver paint marker.

I saw someone use model paint.

I prefer either:

1. Stealth the drive

2. Get a Silver drive (Toshiba and Pioneer)

3. Use no internal drives - use external devices

You can probably remove the drive cover (minor disassembly, in a few minutes) and take it away from the case and spray with some silver spray paint. Model paint is also very well suited to the job.

Go to Directron, choose cases, then case mods, then paint. They sell Aluminum paint that matches pretty good. Just painted my drives to match my case with this paint! Turned out great!

I have lian li floppy face plate, but I could not find on that would fit kenwood 72 x cd or hp 9100. Sounds like spray paint will have to do the trick. I will check out directron for the paint or mabey look into paint marker. The case is well worth the xtra money and the side window is verry cool.

I have the same case and have been considering doing the same thing. I've seen lots of pictures where someone simply painted the drives with silver spray paint and it has looked fine. It's not going to be as good as stealthing, but it doesn't look bad. If you don't want to spend the extra money just go with the paint.

Went with 2 coats Krylon Primer and 2 Metalic Enamle spray paint. Drives look great! Krylon dries fast, Nice match. nicer than the lian li sick on floppy cover. I will probable paint the floppy to. Now I am thinking that I am just about ready for a couple of 92mm blowholes. I don't want to f up a $$$ case, I gess i should start practicing on an old case. Get the skill down. I am thinkinhole saw.

I went with krylon primer then krylon metalic paint. Two coats of each and sanding in between. The drives look great. The krylon paint is quick drying so the project was done in about 4 hours.
