With out getting flamed about the obvious I would like to know which P4 Processor would be best to overclock. I know that people use the 2.4C because they're cheap and they wanna act like they have a 3.4(Ive done it too!) Here's my problem: I just bought an Abit IC7-G with some Corsair ram 2 256MB so I can have dual channel, I also have an All In Wonder 9800 Pro and Audigy 2 ZX. So my question is which P4 Processor would be good for overclocking in the Abit System, I just bought a POLO 735 3 In 1 fan and dont plan on upgrading it agian! So heres to summarize it: Need a Good Overclocker P4 for my Abit IC7-G MOBO with Corsair ram 2 256MB for Dual channel and a POLO 735 3 in 1 HSF. BTW I want to obtain the highest Possible speeds with this configuration.

simple, on newegg the only 2.4C offered is the retail, and the 2.8C OEM (your going to OC any ways so you need a better heatsink) is on $2 more. go 2.8 plus if i remember correctly the 2.8C has a higher multiplier than the 2.4, at least it did in my case.

no, the best % increase over stock overclockers are: the 2.4C, the 2.8C and the 3.0C. 2.6Cs are very hit and miss, they either overclock well or non at all. it also depends on the box date and the chip quality.

2.4 will get you a 800 to 1ghz overclock which is a great deal. If you are looking for a top clock speed then 2.8 or 3.0 is your best bet. The prescott's tend to get you the highest of the group.

It still depends on how much heat-generation you want to live with under your cooling solution. A 2.8C will run hotter stock than a 2.4C O'C'd to 2.8.
