Just wondering what the best chipset for overclocking is for a P4 socket 478. IIRC 865 is the last release for s478? Would it be the best chipset for it? Any motherboards in particular that you know of that are good P4 overclockers? Need something with 800FSB support.

875, but the performance difference between it and the 865 is negligible.

are all those motherboards 865pe based? I have a soyo sy-i865pe dragon 2 plus v1.0 in my gf's machine and it's rock stable but the oc options are almost non-existent.

also, is this motherboard any good when it comes to overclocking. I'm setting up a test system and need a good overclocking board.

How does the MSI PT880 Neo-LSR (VIA chipset) compare to these? I found one cheap and may consider getting it ..

google is your friend:thumbsup:

edit: sorry that sounds a bit mean :(, but the only experience with P4 chipset is the granite bay.

i've only had experience with asus and abit p4 boards.

the first asus is 865pe and the other 3 are 875-based.

all are solid but i have to say that abit has more options for oc because of the infamous softmenu bios.
