If you can still find the canon ip3000 somewhere that's an awesome printer for that price.

For a student, i'd recommend a laser too. For those rare times when you need color, i'd go get it done somewhere.

Lasers are cheaper to operate than an inkjet, & you won't have to worry about cleanings, clogging, & dryed up cartridges.

Now of course, you want uber-cheap, but what you're failing to realize is that uber-cheap printers usually use more expensive less efficient ink systems, which results in higher overall cost.

Whoa, that $50 laser printer is HOT. I'm probably never going to buy an inkjet again. They eat up ink like crazy. A laser should easily last you 2+ years without changing toner.
