Doing a new build with an nforce2 mobo and want to make sure I install everything in the correct order to ensure stability. In what order should you install:

SATA drivers (boot drive will be SATA)
SP1 and all windows updates
nforce2 drivers (and what's the best ver, btw?)
nvidia video drivers
anything else I am forgetting

Aren't the SATA drivers required to install XP in the first place?

SP1 would be next for me.
nForce2 drivers
video drivers
any other drivers
Virus scanning software
Windows patches
DX9
Firefox
AdAware
SpyBot

then comes the games, apps, etc.

Sometimes I do SP1 after drivers, depends on the rig. SP1 should be done early though to avoid any driver conflicts. It also installs the USB 2.0 drivers for XP, which you may need for any peripherals.

Enable your firewall before connecting to get your win updates else you'll get infected before you get them.
