Best option for purchasing MS Points for 360?

I see retail price for 1600 points is 19.99
Seems that is the going price on eBAY too. Any idea best place to find points? Only need 800 but I guess the lowest you can buy is 1600.

Well you can buy them right on the 360 if you want.

If you don't want to do that, Zune points also work, and you can buy smaller cards of those (Not sure how small. I bought a 1200 point one, not sure if they are in 800s too or not)

Yeah, just find the item you want to buy (Or any item) and it'll say something like "Add microsoft points" and you hit X and order from there. I think they are in 500, 1000 and etc, I dont think theres an 800 option either though, so you'll still have to buy a little more than you need but at least not double

Amazon had the 4000 point cards on sale recently. Don't know if that's still going, though.

Just check slickdeals or even better, CAG (cheapassgamer.com) -- there are often sales on these.

Buy.com will put MS point cards and XBL subscription cards on sale also. I would much rather buy them from places like Amazon and Buy.com then ebay. Too easy to get ripped off on ebay.

I don't like the idea of giving MS my CC number (I've heard it's REALLY hard to get them to take your card number off).

I prefer the cards personally, and I'd say go for a retailer. I've never been ripped off on ebay for MS points, but it's entirely possible.

And they're moving away for the Xbox only points, now it's Windows Live points and they'll work for all sorts of things.

I just get from XB Live. Hate that they still collect tax on an instant online purchase but its convenient.

Sorry for the dumb question, but what is it that people are buying with these points? Movies and TV shows? Games? Game add-ons?

I've never had or used the points, but I've got a 1600 point card coming to me from my purchase of GOW2 this weekend (they were OOS, so it's still on its way). I'm trying to figure out if I care to use it or if it's going up for sale.

I use to use my points to purchase HD movies that were BD exclusive as, at the time, I only had an HD DVD player. I have a PS3 now. I've bought a few of the NES games.

Yes. They made the process convoluted.

Go buy points cards. Sometimes Target has sales on the 1600 for $15 instead of $20

i use yourfree360gamesCOM to get free games and points. i posted a review on that site around feb this year.

ive gotten like $600 worth of xbox stuff for like 50 bucks at most

There was that post here a couple months ago for 100 free points for doing some car thing. I think you could do it for 3 email addresses max. If a promotion for 1000 free points ever comes out, you'll have people lined up for months trying to get in on it, including me.
