Best open source program to edit videos?

I've been using kdenlive, it's probably the most stable program I've ever used, as I find video editing programs crash A LOT even the commercial ones in Windows. However, I find it lacks lot of features. For example you cannot change the speed of a clip with the audio. Capabilities with alpha also leave a bit to be desired. It's sorta doable but kinda a pain in the ass and limited the way they did it. It could also use more transition/effects.
