Heh this is like the 5,234,213,562,143 post about college in the last month, but hey...we need some help gettin by.

Anyways, I'm wondering what the best on-campus job would be. I need to work and keep a 3.0 other wise I can't go to school cause I'm poor. I just wanna know if anyone has had experience working at school...and what the love/hate, and what should and shouldn't be done. Ya heard? I wanted to work at a graphic arts store on campus but I'm thinking I didn't get the job cause I'm getting 0 e-mails back about my resume. :(

Desk Attendants! Best job ever. I just sit there and do my work, or watch movies or play games on my laptop. Wireless connection kicks ass! Anyway, yeah, look for those jobs. At my school, we get paid around $6 an hour for day shifts, and $9 an hour for night shifts (midnight to 8am).

When I went to UCLA, I worked as a waiter in Westwood, four nights a week. I cleared $1,600 a month, more than enough to cover my needs. Tuition was only $3,000 or so a year if I recall. Yes, it was that long ago...my VW Bug cost me $1,830.00 new - right off the showroom floor. Sigh.

WHAT?! i only get paid 6.83 and hour, and when i work the midnite shift, i only get an additional .32 per hour! i'm like begging for the flat rate to go up to at least 7.

where's your school???!

if you can find a job as the "proctor" in a computer lab its pretty cushy. you sit there and play. occassionaly you get a few not very bright users but if you get the lab inside an engineering building you shouldn't have problems.

i'm going to rochester institute of technology.

Game room attendent would be a tight job, cause I could play pool all day. But then again they pay you in nickels and crackers.

I worked at the student union at the University of Nevada, Reno--it was the best job on campus because I just unlocked meeting rooms for student groups, answered a few questions at the information desk, and locked the place up at night. Not to mention the SU is usually the center of activity at a lot of schools, so you're always in the center of the fun stuff. Our SU had a movie theater, an auditorium, the book store, fast food restaurants, dining commons, coffee carts, big TVs, a game room, the student government office, and a cafe, so my work environment was never boring. I also met a lot of comedians and bands that played the auditorium since I was the one in charge of the backstage areas and dressing rooms. Anyway, it was fun, we made between $5.50 an hr (receptionist/info booth people) - $10.00 an hr (I made the most since I was the "Building Coordinator"). So basically it was like I was getting paid to hang out in a cool place and see cool movies and shows--and let's not forget that's where all the football players hung out ;)

actually library and lab attendant are not the best jobs. too much work, i work for computing and communications, which is a department that handles tech support, systems administration, and computer training. i currently work in systems administration and computer training. computer training has to be one of the best jobs... you rarely have to do anything. as a lab attendant you have to do menial tasks like clean the screens or something... not my idea of a good job.

I worked as a student at our campus Data Center. Kept moving up, they finally made me a full-time programmer. Computer jobs on campus are always good.
