I just spent my entire evening reading them and they were good. I have to read a lot of other people's writing and my faith has been restored in peoples' ability to write. They are complete thoughts and well organized.

How often do these "Best of CL" come out?

it's funny you mentioned people's writing. in a way, did u get the feeling the postings were "edited"? my friends (most of 'em college educated) don't write like those postings. maybe it's just me...but i really think those postings weren't written by regular folk.

Here's my spin. I got the feeling that people were actually writing to the task of making it to the Best of CL. It appears as though what was posted had been through several drafts.

These were nominated by users of CL. It could be that users simply choose the well written posts.

I find them reminescent of some of the YAGT threads which were well written. Here's an example of great emphasis being placed on setting and detail. This reads like a well written story. I'm refferring to the first two paragraphs.
