Best of 3 Hard Drives

Hitachi 500GB is considered one of the fastest hard drives at the moment. Not sure about the Seagate 7200.9 speed, but it will likely a bit faster than the .8 series.

I would get the Hitachi 500GB since its a proven winner and is cheaper.

The Seagate is great too, I have one of their hard drives in my system.

hmmm... its going to be another month or so before i get it... and i bet then the seagate will drop in its price to the hitachi... or close to at least...

The reason i want such a big drive is because i dont want to worry about deleting anything... i just wanna keep all the blockbuster dvds i rip without burning them unless i wanna watch them... etc...

who thinks the seagate is gonna be faster than the hitachi?

Seagate has never really been about speed in their consumer level HDDs, but the difference is so minimal, who really cares...

I'd go for the Seagate due to their warranties, but all three HDDs you've listed are good.

For me personally, I'd only buy Samsungs or IBM/Hitachi's, but Samsung does not have a large capacity drive.

I would get the t7k500 model instead of the 7k500
