Best OC bang for the buck 939 pinner

I am building a system in about a month and am looking to go AMD once again for gaming. What is the best overall 939 pin A64 overclocker?

for 75% of the price, i got a 3000+(two days ago). I am currently running a stress test at 2295mhz and it seems perfect(prime95 has been going for a logn time and temps are still good). I havent touched the voltage and am using the stock hsf.. I will keep overclocking, but as of now, it seems to have not reached near its limit

edit: 75% of the price of a 3200+

75% of the price of a 3200? What did you do, steal it? They are only 40-50 dollar price difference... and there aren't that many chips... which were you expecting? heh

$150 = 75% of $200.

3000+ all the way, check my sig for my oc. most 3000+'s get 2.4GHz easily. im prime95 testing 2.61ghz right now, no errors yet. im using stock heatsink w/ AS5 and my load temps are 54C. kinda tosty, but its ok with me.

3000 but better get a NF3/4 board if you want to open her up. Hav'nt seen to many via chipsettted borads exceed 260, and even that's rare.

Wow, I'm glad I saw this thread. I was set on the 3200+ because I thought everyone liked it because of the multiplier. But if you can save some $$ and get the 3000+, that's fine with me.

It depends on your ram too and overclock potential I can think of lots of reasons I'd prefer 3200.

Like a 2500Mhz overclock with PC3200 ram

250 HTT with 166 mem setting ~205 mhz which that ram can do nicely.

with 3000

2500 mhz would be

277 HTT and you have to run ram way underclcoked with 133 mem setting @ 184Mhz

Sounds like the 3000+ is a winner. Zakee what does that overclock take you to as far as the next chips purchase speed? 3400+? 3500+?

im not quite sure what you mean here, but in another post someone said i had the equiv of about a 4200+ 😀 thats with stock cooling and some AS5!!!

What I meant was, the amount of your overclock... what chip did it equate to if it was running a stock speed at 2.6Ghz?

Oh, the Mobo I chose was the A8N-SLI by Asus. Should be at my door when I get home. Gonna drive me nuts because I can't build it til I get my tax return in Feb.

Gonna get a couple 6800GTs for it. I'm thinking about the BFG Technologies ones.
