I have been using 28.32's WHQL for the last month or so with no problems, with the system in my sig. I can run Quake 3, Half-Life, CS, Warcract 3 UT and the sims. Loop 3dmark2002 for hours. BUT i just installed Max Payne again and the screen flickers and it just kinda stinks. Than I started getting lockups. Getting the loop error... blah

Should I go back to 27.20's or ? ? Any site that has drivers plus the refresh rate fix ( any driver version ) ?

Go here for NVRefreshTool 0.75b and here for drivers , I actually prefer the 28.32 drivers work fine for me,remember there are no best drivers ,just ones that work great for you.

in the video options of Max Payne, set for double (NOT tripple) buffering.

I never had the problem you describe, but I remember I was in the last scene (the helo and radio tower) and the game kicked me out
requesting I make that setup change.

A shot in the dark, but what the heck............. 😀
 
I use the 28.90's and they work just fine. The 29.20's gave me BSOD's on occasion.
 
The 2890s are the best drivers currently available. The 2920s are stable but slow.

RivaTuner will quickly fix that refresh rate problem.
