Hi.

I just installed the newest Nvidia Detonator FX driver for my Visiontek GF3 Ti200 and I'm really not happy with the 2d, specifically the text. Is there a known driver out there for this card that produces good 2d text? A driver that is more appropriate for this card instead of the new ones? I'd rather give up a few framerates for clear text. I'm running WinXP Pro btw..

TIA.

On a CRT eh? I have a MSI ti200 using a LCD with cleartype and the 44.03's and it's very good.

44.03 are sharp for me as well, anyway you have some options available, one is to remove them and use Driver Cleaner 1.5 from here then reinstall the 44.03 and see if it improves image quality,or try the 30.82 drivers.

Changing refresh rate can also improve sharpness as well.

That's likely a hardware limitation, not a driver one. nVidia cards were known for poor signal quality (blurry text) up to the GF4/FX line, and you might have gotten one of those with low-quality signal parts. Try lowering your refresh rate or resolution.

BTW, what res & refresh are you currently running? And did your GF3 look better with previous drivers, or did you just install the GF3 in your system?

I had a Visiontek Ti200 and liked the 2D with the 3082. I've still been using the 3082 with my Ti4200 but recently went with the 4403; excellent quality in 2D&3D and has been stable on my system. I agree with MEM and would take his advice.

I'm running a Dell 1800FP 18" LCD at its native resolution of 1280 x 1024 at 60 hz and 32 bit color. Where can I find this older 30.82 and 44.03 driver?

BTW.. I tried cleartype with the Detonator FX driver and this card and it was awful! The text is way blurred. It's kind of like looking at something in 3D without the 3D glasses.

Thanks again.

You should probably be using DVI with a 1280x1024 LCD. Are you?
I plan to eventually. No DVI on this card unfortunately. Does it make a big difference?

Thanks again for your help everyone.

Yes DVI-I is worth getting, look around you can get cards pretty cheap with DVI-I from ATi/Nvidia etc.

DVI quality does depend on the card and monitor, some people see a difference while others don`t see any, bottom line it`s nice to have DVI.
