Best noise cancellation headphones

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but it seemed to me like it would be. I'm looking to get a nice pair of noise cancellation headphones for when I travel with my laptop - if price isn't really an issue (but obviously not spending $800 or something ridiculous), anyone have any reccomendations?

better yet, just get a closed phone. sennheiser hd280 and hd25-1 are popular choices, ultrasone hfi series are also noteworthy.

Are the sennheiser's noise cancellation? The site doesn't say anything about them when I found them for sale. Any particular Bose model reccomendation?

hmm.. the noise cancellation ones are px-250, not much is know about these. why would you need noise cancellation when you can get closed phones? bose headphones is teh suck

I had trouble hearing my movies while using my T31 during flights. The volume output wasn't high enough (but I've had no problems on an older model thinkpad). On a whim I bought these.

Cheap and amazing how well they work. They do block out a lot of the noise and are fairly cheap. Sony also sells a version of these style (in ear) with noise cancellation as well but I don't need that now. I think the noise cancel version was $100-200 or so, can't recall. And I wouldn't have any idea how they compare to other noise cancel headphones.

I saw someone using the Bose ones on a flight once, wanted to ask him how well they worked but I figure anyone who spends $300 on headphones and brings them on a flight is probably going to speak positively about them.

On the negative side, the in-ear style can be a bit uncomfortable for some folks and you (may) have to deal with earwax issues.

I bought the EX29 noise reduction headphones - works great. The website claims that it reduces noise by 29db. Don't know much about that, but it sure knocked the bose out the window when I took it along for a transatlantic flight about a month ago.

It's larger than the bose, but I could hear everything in the airplane movies and music channels.

I use it too when working in the yard, i.e. lawn mowing. It is standing up well to the use (or abuse) I'm giving them.

I bought these for about 80 bucks and they have worked great. I've tried the Bose ones too and they good. I just didn't want to spend that much.

Unless they were wireless and bluetooth.
