I agree. My point is that I recognize that I won't be able to tell if it is good music from the clips I didn't think much of RATM after some clips... Then I took the time to listen to them

I remember first hearing PHM. I hadn't seen a picture of Trent prior to it and when I finally did see one he looked exactly like I had imagined.

Their live shows are really something to be seen.

I've been a fan since Pretty Hate Machine came out, and I am torn between that, Broken, and The Fragile.

Trent has too many good albums to pick just one. I like everything he has done from downward spiral and back. I havent been able to get it to much of his newer stuff though.

Everything he makes is just great. The Fragile is a f'in masterpiece. You wouldn't pick that up from one song or casual listening but hear it once in a good stereo and you'll be hooked. I really like With Teeth although it's lighter and catchier than before. PHM is a little bit oldschool, and Downward is really where it's at. So much aggressiveness coupled with talent. I love it - love them all.

NIN is one of those groups that I didn't appreciate when he made his break on the scene. But now I can really get into Pretty Hate Machine and Downward Spiral. Broken is on my list of albums to buy. Haven't listened to Fragile or any of the other newer stuff.

Please... if any of you haven't heard the new NIN album, With Teeth, listen to it, front to back.

It is by far their best album. It is a newer style, more upbeat and some might call it "selling out". The older albums have their hit songs... but With Teeth has a great song time after time.

I've listened to NIN since their first album came out, I really like the new album but most of my favorite songs are on The Fragile.

I like them all, really. Every album manages to be completely different yet retains some of the basic song structure that make NIN.

Best Overall Album: The Fragile (I had listen to this from start to finish in its entirety before I got it)

Best Single: Closer (followed closely by the singles from PHM)

Most Accessible Album: With Teeth (PHM was very accessible at the time of its release, but the production on some of the songs hasn't aged well IMO)

Broken is my fave, the raw anger just comes right through like a punch in the gut. PHM and DS are both great but just shy of Broken. I haven't been able to get too into his more recent stuff, its ok but just never grabbed me.
