best Ni-MH for Olympus camera?

My new Olympus camera just came and I'm going to buy a set of Ni-MH batteries and a charger now. Is there significant performance differences between brands of these batteries? On Newegg, I'm looking at the Powerex batteries and the Olympus batteries. I don't know if I should go big name on these and any help is appreciated

Maha (Powerex) batts are some of the best made. Their chargers are also among the best. I would get a couple packs of Powerex 2200mAH batts and the MH-C401FS charger. I use the Maha 1900mAH batts and this charger bought from this place and couldn't be happier. I've never tried the Olympus brand so I don't know how they compare, but in fact they could be rebadged Maha batteries 🙂 Good luck!

Here's another vote for PowerEX batteries. Check around the net for rechargeable battery comparison tests for ideas as to which brands are better than others. I believe Steve's Digicams had a comparison between several brands and the PowerEX batteries either came out on top or close to it. I bought 2 pairs of 2000mHa PowerEx batteries from Thomas Distributing.

Thumbs up from another happy PowerEX rechargeable battery user, great links listed above. I also use the MH-C401 charger with 1800mAH batts for my Olympus digicam, I can shoot happy crazy for a week before I need to recharge.
