the DFI is particularly useful with its max 3.3v VDimm out of the box

Jesus. :Q Doesn't DDR run at 2.5v or 2.6v at DDR400?

but you need 3.2v+ for bh-5 and bh-6 to really fly (230+ fsb 2,2,2)

Holy wtf. :Q

And here I was worried that I was going to BBQ my parts running them at 1.7v (TbredB) and 2.7v (Corsair XMS)

ok guys, I ended up going with the Abit NF7 V2.0 board
And I got a AXP M 2500.
IQYHA is the core stepping.

So far I haven't installed the new board yet just the CPU.

But in my Rev 1.04 Asus A7n8X deluxe.
I was able to hit 2.3ghz @ 1.575 V
And now doing 2.4ghz @ 1.675 V

I've been using Prime 95 for stability testing and so far so good.
I doubt i'll be going any further with this board.
Once I put the abit in I will see if I can reach 2.5ghz hopefully @ 1.75v

O the full load temp @ 2.4ghz is 47c
Mb temp is 22c

I love my A7N8X deluxe, so I'd recommend the asus

The NF7-S is a much better board for overclocking. It allows multipliers above 12.5 and more voltage selections.

so does my a7n8x deluxe rev2.0, but i have a special bios running on it😉

Are you talking about the "uber" bios? Because I tried it and none of the extra voltage settings had any effect aside from the increased memory voltage. I was also still unable to use multipliers above 12.5; they were listed there in the BIOS but if I selected them they chose a very low multiplier instead.

Oh then its not just a coincedince that when you put the multiplier high on the asus board it goes down to like 1000mhz or something. Im running an A7N8X-E Deluxe. It is rock solid however it does not OC well though it might just be my chip. It is not a mobile it is a regular that is unlocked. I dont know the stepping though.

Is there any way around those problems ie allowing higher multipliers. Also what is this uber bios, does it work with the -E.

The DFI Infinity NFII ULTRA is the best overclocking board out there now for a mobile chip,no other board can match it.
