I have a P4B266-c and a 1.6a. @ 2064. Everytime I put my Netgear FA-310 Network card back in I start locking up again. I'm using a Linksys usb network adapter now that I had laying around. I've tried all the different settings in the bios but it will still lock things up with the card in the system. These cards are about 5 years old if that matters. Has anybody had better luck with one brand network card over others in overclocked systems Is this usually a problem or should it matter? Thanks for any advice.

I have a D-link nic that's about 2 years old and it's working fine in my rig...1.6A @ 2.4, p4b266.

Try a PCI slot that isn't shared: 2, 3?, or 6. Otherwise grab a cheap $20 Linksys 10/100. Those work fine.

I've had Linksys cards croak when using 140fsb. Of course YMMV.
Currently using Belkin NIC with Epox 8kha+ at 195MHz. No problems.

I'd recommend an NDC Fast Ethernet card. It has served me well with my 566 Celeron oc'ed to 876MHz and my new computer, a 1.2GHz Tualitin Celeron oc'ed to 1.56GHz.
