I like Monkey and Beaver... wait, how about Monkey Beaver! Or maybe Irascible Sloth. I know, the Pr0nmast3r 5000! No, the Digital Beaver. DigiBeaver. BinaryBeaver. Sloth-o-Matic. Monkey on a Stick. Pocket Beaver. Port-o-Monkey. Port-o-Pr0n. Gaywad Golden Shower Electromagnetotransotron.

Most of those would be better than the given choices.

moon, dome, bambu, limo are just lame-o, while digivault is more utilitarian than designer -in which case I would have to recluctantly choose limo. At least your marketing can pretentiously inform people the correct pronunciation.

Now, do we get lunch and a product sample out of this?

I'd have to see a picture of the device and know what the "expanded capabilities" are all about. As others have said, those choices are just awful.

Out of those, Digivault ain't too bad I guess.
Some variation of Dome might sound good as well, but just plain Dome sounds a bit lame, maybe StorDome or something.

[edit] Of course Dome kinda suggests something big, like a Superdome for example. 😉 [/edit]

you can tell the marketing person REALLY like digivault because all the others are so bad

what's that called? sort of like 'false dichotomy' but not really

this exercise is purely to make you think you have a choice, when in fact you have none

Or their marketing people just suck.
AMD did come up with Sempron after all 😉

when i think of 'designer' anything i think of upper class snobs, who would use a LIMO! 🙂

at least that's what comes to my mind.

"diveo" ("Div" - "ei" - "oh")

kind of like audio or video, but digitally-stored ... digital audio, digital video.. diveo! 🙂

Not sure what the limit on the number of acceptable syllables is - there are some in product-marketing that claim that a certain specific number of syllables in the name will cause the name to be more memorable or easier to say or recollect.

I read a news article about those new drives, sounds like a nifty idea. Too bad I'm not being paid to do your product naming/marketing for you, eh? 🙂

PS. Make sure to run a trademark name search before using it, of course, because I have not.

Edit: Aw, shoot. There's a web hosting company by the name of "Diveo", both www.diveo.com and www.diveo.net are taken. Forget that idea. 🙁

Maybe digito? ("Digit" - "oh")

Edit: No dice again, there is a Korean electronics company at www.digito.com, and a Portugese tech news site at digito.pt.

Edit: more ideas -

It appears that "stor-me" ("store" - "me") isn't taken. (Rythmes with "stormy", not sure if that would be a good or bad connotation, but the name would be memorable.)

mobileo or moblio ("moe" - "blee" - "oh") seems to be taken by a domain-squatter, but isn't active right now. Might have a negative connotation if someone reads the name and parses "mob" as the first portion. Don't want people calling it "mob"-"leo", certainly.

"Watcha doing?"

"Stuffing my Monkey Beaver..."

"😕"
